In Additive Manufacturing and especially Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), copper has advanced as one of the 5 major metal classes (Cu, Fe, Ti, Al, Ni). With its maturation, new knowledge, experiences, use cases but also questions and challenges arise.
To answer these questions, Fraunhofer IWS in Dresden has initiated the workshop “CopperAM for Industry“, which sucessfully started in 2022 with about 50 international attendees from 11 countries.
In 2025 again, experts from industry and research will give an overview on the recent status of copper and copper alloys processed by LPBF. We seek to provide the latest information on copper based materials, process development and industrial use cases. The workshop will furthermore offer you the opportunity to exchange ideas with other participants in a relaxed atmosphere and to foster close networking between industry and research.
